HONORING LEGACY
Starting in 2026, the program will award two $10,000 scholarships—one to a female student and one to a male student.
These awards are named in honor of family legacy:
The Lynell King & Valerie Davis Empowerment Scholarship (female)
The Donald L. White Legacy Scholarship (male).
Our Philosophy
NURTURING MINDS AND Futures
In everything we do, we prioritize mental wellness. We approach scholarships through the lens of mental wealth — understanding that education must address the whole person, not just the academic record.
Our program is grounded in three key beliefs:
Resilience matters. Many scholars will have faced challenges that shaped their character. We see these lived experiences as strengths that prepare them for leadership.
Identity is power. By embracing and celebrating cultural heritage, students build confidence and clarity in their purpose.
Joy is essential. Success should not come at the cost of well-being. True leadership is cultivated when students find balance and joy along the way.
This philosophy ensures that CWFF Scholars are not only well-prepared academically but are supported emotionally, culturally, and socially to succeed in ways that ripple through generations.
